Problems with my monitor

    From ViewSonic User Guide Database

Why doesn’t my monitor have any power?

The power cord may not be properly and securely connected to both the monitor and power outlet. Additionally, the monitor may not have been turned on via the power button. As a final suggestion, you may want to test if the power outlet is supplying power by plugging in another electrical device.

The power is on, so why isn’t my monitor displaying an image?

The video cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB Type C, VGA, etc.) connecting the monitor to the computer (or other video output device) may not be connected properly. Please make sure the cable is properly and securely connected at both ends.

Also, ensure that the correct video input source is selected on the monitor. (e.g., if you are connecting via and HDMI cable, select HDMI as your input source.)

Why is there no sound coming out from the monitor?

Whether you are using integrated speakers, or ear-/headphones make sure that the volume on the monitor is not muted, nor set to 0. Also, if your monitor supports the feature ensure the Audio Input setting is set to the appropriate audio source.

If you happen to be using ear-/headphones, ensure they are properly connected to the correct audio out port of the monitor.

Why does the image on my monitor have a yellow hue or color?

Most monitors nowadays come with a Blue Light Filter feature to aid in eye safety and health. Make sure that it is turned off or that the intensity level is adjusted to an acceptable level.

Why aren’t my connected USB devices to the monitor working?

Whether you are connecting a mouse, keyboard, or some other USB device, it is important to make sure that all the USB cables are connected properly. Additionally, it is equally important to make sure the USB Upstream port (typically USB Type B) of the monitor is connected to your computer in order to activate the remaining USB Downstream ports (typically USB Type A).

Also, keep in mind that some devices will require a higher power delivery (wattage) to function correctly. Therefore, some USB ports on monitors will not be able to supply adequate power. If this is the case you will need to connect the device directly to the computer or supplement it with additional external power (e.g., power brick).

What can I do if some menus aren’t selectable in the OSD menu?

Depending on the selected ViewMode or video input source some menu options may be grayed out and not selectable. If you find that you want to adjust or use a grayed-out feature, you may need to change your selected ViewMode or video input source. In addition, you can reset the monitor to factory settings.

My screen isn’t centered, what can I do?

Your screen may not be centered due to an incorrect or incompatible aspect ratio. Please check and confirm that you have the correct and supported aspect ratio selected.

Additionally, depending on your video input source, you may be able to adjust the horizontal and vertical position via the OSD menu on the monitor.

As a last resort, you can reset the monitor to the original factory settings.
